Whether it’s a neighbourhood pizzeria tucked away on a side street or a big-name slice shop in the heart of London, The Pizza Index is designed to bring every pizza spot together into one simple, easy-to-use rating system.
The Pizza Index is a user-generated review platform. For pizza fanatics – made by pizza fanatics.
We want people to discover the best pizza in UK, but we all know that not all pizza is created equal and every slice floats different boats.
You can’t compare a Detriot to a New York slice, or the best local takeaway style pizza against a Classic Neopolitian. This is why the system is built to support people looking for the best New haven, or just want the best local takeaway style pizza.
Even better yet – some people don’t know there are so many types of pizza – so Pizza Index opens up a whole new world of pizza to people.
When we set out to build the Pizza Index – we set out to build a rating system that’s really serious about good pizza. This is why we utilise a 10 point scoring system across 7 rating criterias.

Use our search and map tools to find pizzerias near you — from classic Italian trattorias to Detroit-style pop-ups.
Rate Your Slice
Not all pizzas are created equal – some have better dough, some have better sauces – some look real good, but lack taste.
We want people to actually think about why they’ve given the score they have. This is why we ask you consider 7 main characteristics of the pizza.
- Crust
- Sauce
- Cheese
- Toppings
- Bake
- Presentation
- Authenticity
Our system will then generate an accurate score based on what you have given above.
We want to get into the nitty gritty of, why did the pizza get a 7.2 or a 8.7 etc.
We also made the decision (for now) to not include price in the pizza – we don’t want this to get in the way of great tasting pizza -whether it’s worth-it is a subjective matter.
